Which States Offer the Insurance License Exam in Spanish?
State by state, what the insurance department or the official exam provider (Pearson VUE, PSI, or Prometric) says about taking the life and health licensing exam in Spanish, with sources and the date we checked.
Short answer
According to the official source, you can take the life and health insurance license exam in Spanish in Florida, Texas, California, New York, Illinois, Georgia, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, and Oklahoma. In Massachusetts, only select producer exams have a Spanish version.
For Pennsylvania, Nevada, North Carolina, New Jersey, Arizona, Virginia, and Washington we found no official confirmation: confirm with the exam provider before you book. Checked on October 21, 2026.
If Spanish is your stronger language, the first question before you study is whether your state lets you take the licensing exam in Spanish. The answer depends on the state and on the exam provider, and old information circulates online. So this guide only states what each official source says: the state insurance department or the provider that runs the exam (Pearson VUE, PSI, or Prometric).
Checked on October 21, 2026. These rules change. Before you book, confirm with your state exam provider that the Spanish version is still available for your exam.
